The University of Tokyo Folk Song Society (FKEN) is a band club at the University of Tokyo that plays various styles of rock music, from alternative rock to hardcore punk. We perform at the May Festival and Komaba Festival, as well as at live shows about once a month. As a group of passionate music lovers, we are sure you will discover new music through our club. We also share music online among members. Beginners and those with no experience in playing musical instruments are welcome. If you join us, you can freely use the club room.

We, ChorAkademie, practice choral music for the May Festival, Komaba Festival, and the regular concert, based on the music books brought by our seniors and teachers. What makes our group unique is that we are the only male chorus in the University of Tokyo. Since ancient times, choral singing was performed only by male voices, and the overtones heard when the frequencies of male voices were matched were considered to be the singing voice of an angel. Ours is the only choir that offers the charm of an old-fashioned chorus. Our group has a long history and has been requested by the University of Tokyo to perform ceremonies at entrance and graduation ceremonies. We also have deep exchanges with choirs from other universities, and every year we give a joint concert with the Meiji University Glee Club, Rikkyo University Glee Club, Waseda University Glee Club, Keio University Wagner Society Male Chorus, and Hosei University Arion Chorus at the regular concert of the Tokyo Six University Chorus Association. We also perform joint concerts with the Kyoto University Glee Club. We welcome both experienced and inexperienced chorus members. Let's sing “Todai” together!
