Shamisen Club 三味線くらぶ(長唄研究会)

We play a kind of Japanese music called "Edo nagauta" with shamisen, a traditional Japanese musical instrument, and singing. Most members were begginer when they started it. The teachers offer free practice, so very little money is necessary as activity costs. We also have a club room in the Komaba Campus, where students can practice on their own. We are active jointly with the International Christian University (ICU) Nagauta Kenkyukai, and we hold a joint concert every December in which all first-year students also perform. UTokyo Scale Modeling Club (東大模型部)

ChorAkademie (東京大学音楽部合唱団コールアカデミー)

We, ChorAkademie, practice choral music for the May Festival, Komaba Festival, and the regular concert, based on the music books brought by our seniors and teachers. What makes our group unique is that we are the only male chorus in the University of Tokyo. Since ancient times, choral singing was performed only by male voices, and the overtones heard when the frequencies of male voices were matched were considered to be the singing voice of an angel. Ours is the only choir that offers the charm of an old-fashioned chorus. Our group has a long history and has been requested by the University of Tokyo to perform ceremonies at entrance and graduation ceremonies. We also have deep exchanges with choirs from other universities, and every year we give a joint concert with the Meiji University Glee Club, Rikkyo University Glee Club, Waseda University Glee Club, Keio University Wagner Society Male Chorus, and Hosei University Arion Chorus at the regular concert of the Tokyo Six University Chorus Association. We also perform joint concerts with the Kyoto University Glee Club. We welcome both experienced and inexperienced chorus members. Let's sing “Todai” together!

The University of Tokyo Jazz Combo東大ジャズ研究会)

We are the only jazz combo circle at Tokyo University. Regular jam session is held every Friday night at 6PM〜9PM. Feel free to join us!
