■Activities

A student circle founded by those who took the course “The United Nations and Culture.”

They address the United Nations’ priorities—especially the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim for a world where “no one is left behind”—through culture and the arts.

Their activities include projects such as the EMPOWER Project, which promotes “ally coming out” by wearing the Magenta Star, and Voice of Youth JAPAN, a web platform run in collaboration with UNICEF to amplify the voices of young people.

They work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, including international organizations, companies, government bodies, and local communities. Their activities span from event planning and workshops to managing online platforms and delivering school lessons.

The weekly planning meetings, where ideas for new initiatives are shared, are known for their welcoming and cozy atmosphere.

Members come from diverse academic backgrounds and have a wide range of interests, with common themes including the United Nations, culture, and the arts. Their areas of expertise vary widely.

One member who launched the EMPOWER Project presented their proposal at a United Nations conference.

There are no clear roles other than the representative. The group's direction is decided collectively during meetings. While many projects already exist, if someone proposes a new idea, everyone works on it together.
