What is Shorinji Kempo?
Shorinji Kempo is a self-defence art born in Japan.
Shorinji Kempo is a martial art that originated in Kagawa Prefecture in the post-war period. Its founder, Sōdōshin, organised and reorganised the fist techniques he had learnt in China and added his own originality and ingenuity to them.
Although it is a relatively new martial art, it is one of the nine major martial arts of Japan.
It is characterised by two types of techniques: hard techniques, such as thrusting and kicking, and soft techniques, such as throwing and joint techniques, and places emphasis not only on technique but also on mental development.

The UTokyo LEGO Club (UTLC) is celebrating its 17th anniversary this year. We exhibit collaborative large-scale works (e.g. an amusement park, the MIYASHITA PARK at Shibuya, and the "Naranja Academy" of Pokémon Scarlet) and individual works at school festivals held twice every year. We also get frequent commissions from companies and other organizations, creating LEGO works and holding workshops mainly for children in and out of Tokyo. We often chat on Discord and stream live videos on YouTube on a regular basis. The UTLC welcomes all LEGO lovers!
