GXSN is an official supported student organization at the University of Tokyo working toward a more sustainable campus. Our wide range of projects includes proposing and analyzing water server installations, conducting biodiversity surveys, organizing guest lectures, running food bank activities, and carrying out student awareness surveys. Here's what makes our group unique: ①We work closely with the university and the co-op, so student ideas can easily become reality. ②You'll get to connect with fellow students from diverse majors and years (including graduate students) who share an interest in environmental issues—great for exploring ideas for your future studies. ③There are opportunities to engage with students from other universities, present at academic conferences, and even be featured in the media. ④You're free to choose how often and in what way you participate, and we welcome new project ideas! If you're interested, head to our website and fill out the participation form!
We, ChorAkademie, practice choral music for the May Festival, Komaba Festival, and the regular concert, based on the music books brought by our seniors and teachers. What makes our group unique is that we are the only male chorus in the University of Tokyo. Since ancient times, choral singing was performed only by male voices, and the overtones heard when the frequencies of male voices were matched were considered to be the singing voice of an angel. Ours is the only choir that offers the charm of an old-fashioned chorus. Our group has a long history and has been requested by the University of Tokyo to perform ceremonies at entrance and graduation ceremonies. We also have deep exchanges with choirs from other universities, and every year we give a joint concert with the Meiji University Glee Club, Rikkyo University Glee Club, Waseda University Glee Club, Keio University Wagner Society Male Chorus, and Hosei University Arion Chorus at the regular concert of the Tokyo Six University Chorus Association. We also perform joint concerts with the Kyoto University Glee Club. We welcome both experienced and inexperienced chorus members. Let's sing “Todai” together!
