The Chemistry Club (教養学部化学部)

Congratulations to all new students on your enrollment. The Chemistry Club of the Faculty of Liberal Arts at the University of Tokyo is the only club that can conduct experiments in the Komaba laboratory. We loosely conduct activities such as weekly experiments and mock experiments at the Komaba Festival. Each member can freely conduct experiments using reagents from the laboratory and the hazardous materials storeroom. Any missing reagents can be purchased with the Chemistry Club's funds. You are free to participate in our activities as often and when you wish. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us via email or X (formerly Twitter). Whether you have always been interested in chemistry or not, we are looking forward to hearing from you!

The UTokyo LEGO Club (UTLC) is celebrating its 17th anniversary this year. We exhibit collaborative large-scale works (e.g. an amusement park, the MIYASHITA PARK at Shibuya, and the "Naranja Academy" of Pokémon Scarlet) and individual works at school festivals held twice every year. Coro Letizia (コーロ・レティツィア)

Coro Letizia is the official women’s choir of the University of Tokyo, composed solely of female students, and was established in 2009. As the university’s representative choir, we perform the university’s songs at official ceremonies such as the entrance and graduation ceremonies. We are the only group that gets the opportunity to sing at prestigious venues like the Budokan and Yasuda Auditorium every year. Being a choir made up entirely of female students from the University of Tokyo, we offer a unique space to form close friendships while pursuing the delicate and soft harmonies that only a women’s choir can create. Although our main focus is women’s choir music, we also perform mixed choir pieces with the University of Tokyo men’s choir, Chor Akademie, at our regular concerts and campus festivals, allowing us to enjoy richer harmonies and expand our repertoire. Additionally, we will be participating in a joint concert with Seoul National University in Korea this coming March. Beginners are more than welcome, and many of our members start with no prior experience in choir. With the guidance of a professional voice trainer, everyone is able to improve steadily and enjoy singing.

The UTokyo Yuri Society (東京大学百合愛好会)

The UTokyo Yuri Society is the only club in UTokyo dedicated exclusively to yuri. With around 50 members, the club's main activities revolve around biweekly meetings and the annual publication of a newsletter. The biweekly meetings provide a casual space for members to gather and chat about yuri. The newsletter, the "Liliest" series, consists of various articles written by volunteer members, including reviews, discussions, and original works. The newsletter is mainly distributed at "Comiaca," a doujinshi convention by UTokyo members. Additionally, the club holds discussions on creative works and hosts activities focused on detailed readings and presentations.

Shirobarakai Chorus (東京大学白ばら会合唱団)

Shirobarakai Chorus is the University of Tokyo's longest-established choir circle, with a history of 78 years. Registered with the University of Tokyo Orientation Committee and officially recognized by the Ochanomizu University, our club practices twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We practice in a friendly atmosphere in preparation for performances on the school festival stage and at yearly concerts. Some of our members don't have music experience, but with the coaching of a professional musician and careful voice training, everyone from beginners to the experienced can improve while having fun. The attraction of Shirobarakai is the warm atmosphere and close friendship among the members. The members are very close to each other, regardless of gender and age, and there is a lot of interaction besides practice. Many members belong to other clubs, so you can meet many unique members and enjoy the group in your own way. Please come and see the Shirobarakai Choir!

Shamisen Club 三味線くらぶ(長唄研究会)

We play a kind of Japanese music called "Edo nagauta" with shamisen, a traditional Japanese musical instrument, and singing. Most members were begginer when they started it. The teachers offer free practice, so very little money is necessary as activity costs. We also have a club room in the Komaba Campus, where students can practice on their own. We are active jointly with the International Christian University (ICU) Nagauta Kenkyukai, and we hold a joint concert every December in which all first-year students also perform. If you are interested in our activities, please visit our SNS!
