University of Tokyo 'E.S.S.' stands for English Speaking Society, where students engage in various English language oriented activities. This club is divided into three sections: drama section, where students create English musical plays; speech section, where students practice public speaking skills and present speeches in English; and discussion section, where students engage in discussion of various topics in English. There are many Japanese students who want to improve their English, so your existence will be very much appreciated. It's also a great chance for you to learn Japanese as well! Nonetheless, there are many PEAK students and Japanese returnees who can speak English, so we can support you through every step. We are excited to hear from you!

Coro Letizia is the official women’s choir of the University of Tokyo, composed solely of female students, and was established in 2009. As the university’s representative choir, we perform the university’s songs at official ceremonies such as the entrance and graduation ceremonies. We are the only group that gets the opportunity to sing at prestigious venues like the Budokan and Yasuda Auditorium every year. Being a choir made up entirely of female students from the University of Tokyo, we offer a unique space to form close friendships while pursuing the delicate and soft harmonies that only a women’s choir can create. Although our main focus is women’s choir music, we also perform mixed choir pieces with the University of Tokyo men’s choir, Chor Akademie, at our regular concerts and campus festivals, allowing us to enjoy richer harmonies and expand our repertoire. Additionally, we will be participating in a joint concert with Seoul National University in Korea this coming March. Beginners are more than welcome, and many of our members start with no prior experience in choir. With the guidance of a professional voice trainer, everyone is able to improve steadily and enjoy singing.
We performs Nagasaki traditional dance, " Jaodori". Jaodori is a kind of dances, which performers swing the artificial dragon and mimic the movements of a dragon. It originally came from China but has been performed in Nagasaki for about 300 years. Nagasaki has a typical culture which was affected by China, Portugal, and Holland in Edo period.
