The Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, The Todai Shimbun has been disseminating and exchanging knowledge and information through various media, primarily newspapers, since the launch of Teikoku Daigaku (Imperial University) Shimbun in December 1920. While based at the University of Tokyo, the foundation remains organizationally, personnel-wise, and financially independent from the university. As the only student newspaper in Japan operating as a public interest corporation, it is primarily edited and published by students of the University of Tokyo. The outcomes of its activities benefit not only its direct readers but also contribute broadly to the advancement of academia and the enrichment of cultural standards in society. In addition to publishing the monthly newspaper The Todai Shimbun, we release articles almost daily on our news website, Todai Shimbun Online, and also publish books for prospective students. We publish articles not only in Japanese but also in English and Chinese. We also welcome individuals who are proficient in these and other languages.
